It is impossible to say when a new story will start to unravel. A sudden chain of events, one look, one touch – and here you have it, another story, another romance, another tragedy even. What this new tale will be about? No one can say in advance. Perhaps about friendship. Perhaps passion. Perhaps love.
The story begins, and since that moment it is impossible to stop. Where will it go? You can try to guess, but you can be sure that you will be wrong. Stories are unpredictable. Will it have a happy ending? Maybe. We will see.
So the story goes on. Two people suddenly see each other with different eyes, notice what they never noticed before, and just like that what was friendship turns into… Love? Maybe. Only these two can say. They are happy, so maybe it doesn’t even matter if it is love or not.
And the story goes on, and what one calls “happiness” becomes pain to someone else. Such things happen in life. Sometimes when one falls in love he forgets about those he loved before. Sad, but unavoidable. You may call it cruelty – forgetting about the one who still loves you. But maybe our hero just can’t help it. Heart doesn’t listen to orders – a common wisdom, but wisdom nonetheless.
And the story goes on, and other heroes appear in it – characters from the past stories that seemed to be finished long time ago. These new – or old – persons look around, make themselves comfortable in this new story that never was theirs to begin with and with time they even claim the place among the main heroes. Or maybe it only seems so.
And the story goes on, and sadly it is not often that it goes as our heroes would like it to go. Something always goes wrong, and it is good if the problems are solved as soon as they appear. But many, too many people are unable to speak with each other. Whether it is in stories or in real life – same difference.
But the story goes on, and so the one is sitting in the silent hotel room, trying to make himself believe in things he wants to believe in, trying to forget about things he can’t help but remember, trying not to feel the pain that is eating him inside.
And still the story goes on, and the other all of sudden finds himself looking for Austrian TV channels on his satellite antenna. And is swearing when the club he never cared about ends the important match with only a draw.
And the story goes on, and the one from the past is looking at the piece of paper with the phone number written in a familiar handwriting and feels himself warm again – knowing that he is allowed to call from now on. Not that he will do it, but maybe, maybe…
And their story goes on.
